The Ngee Ann Secondary Symphonic Band was established in 2000 and since its inception, the Band has participated in numerous local and overseas adjudications. They took part in the Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2015 for Secondary School Bands after a 7-year hiatus and clinched the Certificate of Accomplishment. Recently, the Band was awarded the Silver Award in the 6th National Band Competition held at Singapore Conference Hall.

Other than school and public performances, the Band participates in numerous local and overseas exchange programmes and Masterclass workshops with renowned musicians / band consultants like Mr. Atsushi Yamashita from Japan, and Mr Chan Wing-Khoi from Malaysia. The Band leaders are also exposed to various leadership training workshops / camps, like the Band Student Leadership Workshop “Leadership in Music” by Dr Tim Lautzenheiser, Frank Troyka & Team, and the annual Band Student Conductor Camp and Drum Major Camp.

The Band is currently under the directorship of Mr Chris Goh and assistant instructor Mr Gavilan Neo. Our motto, “One Band, One Sound”, reflects our aspiration to improve the musicianship of each member and, at the same time, forge strong bonds of friendship.
